Priory Ayr Clinic is an independent low secure care provider in Scotland.  Priory Ayr Clinic has a total of 54 beds across three sites, Ayr Clinic (36 beds), Ayr Gatehouse (8 beds) and Lochlea House (10 beds), the latter two being secure step-down units. 


Priory Ayr Clinic has  an excellent track record in meeting the needs of NHS Scotland in the provision of care for individuals presenting with severe challenging behaviours by virtue of a mental disorder and/or personality disorder.  The clinical model is aimed at recovery focusing on improving skills and independence of patients. Our full complement of multidisciplinary teams offer nursing, psychology, psychiatry, occupational therapy and physical healthcare. All our patients and professionals work in an environment of hope, positive regard and empowerment.

Job Advert Role Description

The post is to cover up to 12 low secure inpatient beds spread over more than one ward.  There will be a 1 in 4 on call commitment. The wards have established MDT.  The service is a consultant-led model of care, currently staffed by three consultants.  The post-holder has responsibility for the day-to-day medical care of their allocated  patients.  There is no out-patient work required however there will be a requirement to travel for assessments when required.

The post holder would be joining an enthusiastic, committed and supportive group of consultants and highly experienced MDT.  There would be opportunities to be involved in service development, attend CPD events and external networking activities.
