Job Advert Role Description

You will be part of the Psychology Assessment Consultation and Therapy Team (PACTT) Department. You will assist the team in  the delivery of individual sessions with pupils at our schools and young people placed in our residential homes, as well as consultation with the staff and managers and wider network (e.g. Social Workers, YOS teams, etc…), to promote psychological and emotional well-being amongst children and their carers. This will involve undertaking high quality assessments, keep records of all your interventions, attendance to meetings, and support the team with the administrative tasks. You will be supervised by the Lead Psychologist.

  • Should have a minimum 2:1 honours degree in Psychology that makes them eligible for the Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership of the British Psychological Societ
  • Significant experience of working directly with children and young people and with parents/carers, for example experience of teaching, youth work, mentoring, mental health support or experience working as an Assistant Psychologist
  • Ability to demonstrate a significant knowledge of a wide range of psychological methods and perspectives which underpin the work of an applied psychologist
  • Ability to demonstrate a significant knowledge of children's development
  • High levels of effective communication skills, both oral and written
  • Experience of maintaining a database to assist with evaluation of work
