Where you’ll be working

This is a five bed service based in Clacton.  This is a recent newly opened project within our existing portfolio of specialist provisions we have for the care of young people with social, emotional and mental health difficulties. Our Senior Support Worker roles in Clacton offer a salary of £18,000- £22,000 plus a sleep in rate.


As a Senior Support Worker you’ll be doing the following:

  • Supporting the management to run a successful staff tea and all day to day operations of the home.
  • To assist the management team with the supervisions of junior staff.  Inducting new staff into the homes procedure and culture. 
  • Ensuring the highest standards of care in relation to the young people's physical, behavioural and emotional needs. 
  • Be the young person's champion and as part of the wider team strive to ensure that they achieve their aspirations and full potential. 
  • Assist senior staff with the writing and maintaining of placement and risk management plans. 
  • Supporting the young people in a manner that is centred and focused around their individual needs in a safe and neutering environment.
  • You will be assigned a key child and play a pivotal role in their day to day life including attending reviews and liaising with external agencies. 
  • Support and encourage education engagement.


Level 3 Residential Childcare qualification is essential for this role.

It is preferable that the successful candidate has 3 years driving experience and a clean license.


A family is 24/7 and so are we.  We use a rota system to ensure the people in our homes get the care they need.  As a Senior Support Worker the following shifts are examples of what we would expect staff to work

08.00 am - 11.00 pm /08.00-03.30/ 03.30 - 11.00pm plus sleep ins.

There may be occasions where you would be expected to cover a night wake  10.30 pm-08.30am to ensure the needs of the service is being met
