Job Advert Role Description

Challenge Yourself and Make a Difference to our lives by joining our Support Workers in Lyndhurst, Hampshire.

Hello, we are the young people of Coxlease School and Clayhill School (part of the Priory Group) and we are looking for caring, enthusiastic and funny Support Workers to join us in our Children’s Homes, which are near the schools.

We are between 5-25 years old and have been diagnosed with autism, ADHD and other learning difficulties. We can have difficulties with communicating and can be challenging at times. But don’t worry, you don’t need to be qualified or have experience, our team are really good at helping people learn and will help you too.

We like to be active so have many things we like to do such as going on beach walks with ice cream, going to Harry Potter World, Alton Towers, Go Ape and music concerts. We also enjoy going to our swimming lessons, dance lessons and scouts.

We go shopping to buy food to cook and are keen on eating different foods from different cultures and love having themed dinners, with props and dress up. Preparing colourful and tasty meals at home is really fun, but we also like eating out, especially if it is for a special occasion.

When it comes to music, we enjoy listening to: Classical, Rock and Pop. And when it comes to movies we love comedies. Pantomimes and Theatres are also really fun.

We don’t all like the same things and you don’t have to either. We just need you to support us with the choices we make.

Our Support Workers need to be able to work a variety of shifts to help us throughout the day, working between 7:30am and 10:30pm and averaging 37.5 hours a week. You’ll need to help us through the weekend too and on occasion do a sleeping night but you don’t normally have to be awake on shift, at night, as we have Night Support Workers who help with that.

If you think you can help us and make a difference to our lives, please fill in the application form and hopefully someday soon we can have a dinner party with you!

What you’ll get for helping us:

  • Enhanced disclosure cost coverage
  • Comprehensive induction and commitment to ongoing training including Qualifications in Health and Social care
  • A generous annual leave entitlement
  • Online benefits and cashback rewards
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Dental Insurance
  • Travel Insurance
  • Health Cash Plan
  • SMART Pension option
