Our Children’s Home situated in Herefordshire in the HR1 postcode area is seeking a permanent full-time Residential Support Worker. Woodbury house is a 7 bedded home accommodating young people usually ranging in age from 13-17 years old. Woodbury Children’s Home places high value on relationships between young people and staff and it is these relationships that are central to the work that is undertaken with the young people.

As a Residential Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing day to day care for our Young People, supporting them in activities, encouraging then to join local clubs, ensuring all health needs are met, supporting them in education, increasing self-esteem and equipping them with the knowledge and ability to keep themselves safe. Working as part of the team you will ensure the home is kept to a good standard in all aspects of house-keeping.

Our Support Worker roles in Herefordshire offer a salary of up to £15,834 per annum plus £40 nightly sleep in allowance. There is an opportunity for overtime if desired.

Experience of working in a Residential Childcare setting or working with young people with BESD is an advantage. We welcome applications from those with no experience but who are willing to train and learn. All staff undertake relevant training leading to a nationally recognised Level 3 Qualification in Residential Childcare (QCF).

Whilst a clean driving license is desirable it is not essential for this post.

Hours

A family is 24/7 and so are we. We use a rota system to ensure the young people in our home get the care they need. As a Support Worker, in our Home you can you should be happy to work a shift rota system that includes working some weekends and bank holidays.

Please see an example of the rolling rota pattern over 3 weeks below.

Week 1: Tuesday & Saturday 15 hour shifts

Week 2: Wednesday & Friday 15 hour shifts

Week 3: Monday, Thursday & Saturday 15 hour shifts

Staff could work a shift ranging from the hours of 08.00am -23.00pm.
