Our Children’s Home situated in Hereford is seeking a permanent full-time residential Team Leader. Highbury House is a registered home for up to 7 young people of either gender aged between 11 and 18 who have emotional and behavioural difficulties, and are starting to engage with methods of behaviour management and assistance with their emotional needs.     

As a Team Leader at our children’s home in the Herefordshire area you will be a key member of our team, providing high standards of person-centred support and care to our young people. Through a warm, welcoming and relaxed approached with a structured environment, you will encourage young people to develop social, educational and practical skills to lead a fulfilling life set in beautiful surroundings.

Our Team Leader roles in Hereford offer a salary of up to £18,000 per annum plus £40 nightly sleep in allowance. There is an opportunity for overtime if desired.

As a Team Leader, you’ll be doing the following:

  • Supporting the management to run a successful staff team and all day to day operations of the home
  • To assist the management team with the supervisions of junior staff
  • Inducting new staff into the homes procedure and culture
  • Ensuring the highest standards of care in relation to the young people’s physical, behavioural and emotional needs.
  • Be the young person’s champion and as part of the wider team strive to ensure that they achieve their aspirations and full potential
  • Support young people in daily activities including family contact, attending local clubs, 1:1 activities in the community, promoting independence and social behaviour.
  • Support and encourage educational engagement.

Level 3 in Children and Young People qualification is essential for this role. Successful applicants will need to have previous experience of working with young people with challenging behaviour.

Due to the remote location of our home a valid clean driving license is essential.

Hours

A family is 24/7 and so are we. We use a rota system to ensure the young people in our home get the care they need. As a Team Leader, in our Home you can you should be happy to work a shift rota system that includes working some weekends and bank holidays. This home is open 52 weeks per year.

Week 1: (Work 15 Hours each shift starting at 8am and Finish at 23.00hrs)

Monday & Thursday

Week 2: (Work 15 Hours each shift starting at 8am and Finish at 23.00hrs)

Wednesday, Saturday & Sunday

Week 3: (Work 15 Hours each shift starting at 8am and Finish at 23.00hrs)

Tuesday & Friday
