Our Children’s Home situated in Ross-On-Wye, Herefordshire is seeking a permanent full-time Team Leader. Situated near the picturesque town of Ross on Wye, Fairview children’s home is a three bedroom home offering an intensive level of support & care for young people who have complex needs which may include autistic spectrum disorders (ASD) and complex associated difficulties. 

As a team leader at our children’s home near Ross on Wye you will be a key member of our team, providing high standards of person-centered support and care to our young people. Through a creative and caring approach, you will build good relationships with young people their families and other professionals involved in the young person’s care, supporting them in the planning of goals and in living as independently as possible. Both personal care and participation in activities are key tasks for the role, so energy and initiative is vital.

Our Team Leader roles in Ross-on-Wye offer a salary of up to £18,000 per annum plus £40 nightly sleep in allowance. There is an opportunity for overtime if desired.

As a Team Leader, you’ll be doing the following:

  • Supporting the management to run a successful staff team and all day to day operations of the home
  • To assist the management team with the supervisions of junior staff
  • Inducting new staff into the homes procedure and culture
  • Ensuring the highest standards of care in relation to the young people’s physical, behavioural and emotional needs.
  • Be the young person’s champion and as part of the wider team strive to ensure that they achieve their aspirations and full potential
  • Assist senior staff with the writing and maintaining of placement and risk management plans
  • Support young people in daily activities including family contact, attending local clubs, 1:1 activities in the community, promoting independence and social behaviour.
  • You will be assigned a key child and play a pivotal role in their day to day life including attending reviews and liaising with external agencies
  • Support and encourage educational engagement

 Level 3 in Children and Young People qualification is essential for this role. Successful applicants will need to have previous experience of working with young people with challenging behaviour.

Due to the rural location of the Home in Ross on Wye, you would need to be a driver and have your own car.

Hours

A family is 24/7 and so are we. We use a rota system to ensure the young people in our home get the care they need. As a team Leader, in our Home you can you should be happy to work a shift rota system that includes working some weekends and bank holidays.

Week 1: Monday & Thursday

Week 2: Wednesday, Saturday & Sunday

Week 3: Tuesday & Friday
