Job Advert Role Description

A vacancy has arisen for a full time Clinical/Counselling Psychologist or CBT therapist  to lead our Team in the Obsessional Department and to work in collaboration with Dr.David Veale. We are looking for someone with experience with individuals with severe Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Body Dyspmorphic Disorder, Specific Phobia of Vomit and the broader array of Obsessional Disorders with CBT. The person must have strong leadership skills, but able to help develop the department while meeting applicable standards of practice and Priory Procedures. The service is commissioned by the Department of Health as part of the Highly Specialises Service for OCD and BDD and may also admit other patients funded buy Clinical Commissioning Groups in England and Local Health Boards from Scotland and Wales as well as private patients from the UK and Internationally. 

You will need to be qualified at Masters/Doctoral Level with specialist training in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy in line with the NICE guidelines and current evidence base for Obsessional Disorder. You must be registered with the appropriate governing bodies (HCPC) and use CBT as your main therapeutic orientation. BABCP accredication will be desierable.  Experience in working with Personality disorder/trauma/ complex presentations and in-patient experience in multi-disciplinary team will be an advantage.

The role will be predominately in-patient CBT individual work with people with severe and treatment refractory OCD/BDD, as well as some group work. Clinical supervision will be provided.

You will be responsible for management and development of the service. You will need to be working as a manager but also having a full clinical case load and coordinate and facilateTrainee Clinical Psychologists and student psychologists placements. You will report to the Therapy Services Manager.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, authentic, motivated and highly present person to fill this exciting and challenging role. An interest in working with individuals with obsessional problems is essential. .
