The Priory Hospital Cheadle Royal is a specialist provider of complex mental health services, providing clinical excellence in our eating disorders, adolescent, rehabilitation and PICU services.

The Mental Health Act Office ensures that internal processes and statutory procedures required for the registration, admission and treatment of patients detained under the Mental Health Act are properly administered.

Job Advert Role Description

The job holder will support the Mental Health Act Manager office by providing general admin support, including:

  • Taking the lead in arranging Tribunal Hearings
  • Attending to incoming mail and messages
  • Maintaining office supplies
  • Making up files/filing/maintaining an efficient records system
  • Photocopying/scanning documents
  • Liaising with Ward Clerks to ensure all relevant documentation is sent to the MHA office
  • Processing invoices
  • Sending letters regarding admissions/appeals/renewals

 

Knowledge and experience of MHA and previous experience working within a mental health act admin role would be advantageous. A good telephone manner and be able to take accurate messages.  He/she will be organised and able to work well in a small team.  Computer skills should include the ability to accurately enter data and create mail merge letters.

This job provides the right candidate with an opportunity to acquire and develop a good working knowledge of the MHA and associated legislation/procedures.
