Job Advert Location Description

Abbey House provides a specialist psychiatric rehabilitation and recovery service for 25 men aged 18 years or older with enduring mental illness and/or personality disorder. We support the needs of both detained and voluntary patients and can manage patients with complex needs, including those with a history of offending.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Chef to join our existing team.

 

The role:

  • To assist with the provision of a catering service within a Priory unit with particular emphasis on the planning, preparation, cooking and serving of meals.
  • To prepare and serve meals to a high standard whilst closely adhering to any religious or dietary requirements for our patients.
  • Takes full shift responsibility for the catering operation (in the absence of the Head Chef).
  • Ensures the cost-effective and efficient control of stock including placing orders for food products and the checking/reconciliation of deliveries.  Ensures that wastage is minimised.

 

To assist in the keeping of all records to meet statutory requirements. Candidates must be NVQ Level 2 equivalent or qualified by experience in catering, together with a basic food handlers certificate as a minimum.

 

Essential:

  • Previous experience within a professional kitchen environment.
