Job Advert Role Description

Knowing that you’re making a difference to people’s lives is rewarding in itself. But our many roles offer much more than that. As well as helping you grow and develop your talent, we want you to feel proud of where you work and what you do.

Heathfield is a Neuro-Rehabilitation Service in Broad Oak, East Sussex which provides specialist nursing care, rehabilitation and support for individuals with neurological conditions.

Nursing and therapy programs are tailored for each individual and goals are developed in conjunction with their families to best reflect aspiration. Individuals are supported to take part in activities they enjoy, including sensory experiences, and families are encouraged to be involved through regular review meetings.

The catering department plays a key role in ensuring that residents receive the best possible menu options to support their nutritional needs, including those who require modified diets.

We are currently looking for a bank chef to work on an 'as required' basis.  Although this is a zero hours contract, regular shifts will be offered, to include at least one weekend day.

Under the guidance of the Head Chef, the successful candidate will assist with the provision of the catering service with particular emphasis on the planning, preparation and cooking of meals.

To be successful as a Bank Chef, you will need:

 - Awareness of safety and hygiene issues in a working environment

 - Experience of working in a similar role

 - Knowledge of Health and Safety and food preparation procedures

 - Certificate in Food Safety / Hygiene

 - Ability to serve well-presented meals, cooked to a high standard
