Job Advert Location Description

The Cloisters is a 24 bedded open rehabilitation unit, set within a peaceful environment on the edge of Newbury. The unit offers in-patient rehabilitation services to service users who require longer hospital stays than provided in an acute ward, to develop independent living skills prior to moving into community based accommodation.

The Role:

This is a zero hours contract role.  As part of the Support Services team, our catering assistants provide support to our chefs and keep the dining room service delivery flowing waiting tables, serving meals and ensuring high standards of cleanliness in all our kitchens and the main dining room.

We are looking for a reliable catering assistant and this is an excellent opportunity to join the Priory Service in Newbury.

What we'd like from you:

  • The ability to clean and deep clean the main kitchen, kitchenettes and dining room
  • The capability to be on your feet all day in a busy kitchen (a half hr unpaid lunch is in your shift if over 4hrs)
  • Your help to bring in deliveries of food and organise the fridges and storerooms including stock rotation
  • To assist the chefs where required in minor food preparation
  • To set and clear tables and assist the chefs to serve food during meal times
  • Understand basic numeracy and literacy
  • Be able to prioritise work
  • Have good communication skills as you will be interacting with Service Users as well as staff
  • COSHH knowledge is required but training will be given
