Job Advert - Division Information

Priory Adult Care is the UK’s leading independent provider of specialist adult care services. Our aim is to provide the right support in the right home for all the individuals we accommodate.

With community-based residential care settings, as well as a network of supported living services, we support adults over the age of 18 with autism, dementia, learning disabilities, mental health conditions, Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS) and behaviours that challenge. We also offer a range of residential and nursing care settings for older people with varying levels of need.

Job Advert Location Description

The service offers 24/7 specialist residential support to adults over the age of 18 and is committed to empowering and encouraging the individuals who live there. Staff provide the support needed to enable them to reach their goals and to develop their self esteem and the skills they need to live as independently as possible.

Everyone at Martins House is involved in designing their own Person Centred Plan, with staff support. Each individual has their own weekly timetable, which details their preferred activities - either in-house or community-based. Individuals are supported to attend college courses or access voluntary and paid work in order to build on their skills, self confidence and esteem.

We are also supported by our person centred approaches team, which provides positive behaviour support strategies to individuals using the service, and their team of support staff, to enable them to achieve positive outcomes.

The well trained team at Martins House aim to improve the quality of life outcomes for people with complex and challenging needs. In doing so we are committed to using positive behaviour approaches and strive to improve practice through review, action, research and the development and delivery of training. We can offer one-to-one psychological and psychiatric support where needed, and have access to a multi-disciplinary staff team.

Job Advert Role Description

As a Support Worker you will be a key member of our team, providing high standards of person-centred support and care to our service users. Through a creative and caring approach, you will build good relationships with both service users and their families, supporting service users in the planning of goals and in living as independently as possible. Both personal care and participation in activities are key tasks for the role, so energy and initiative is vital; experience however is not essential, providing you have a willingness to learn and the compassion and patience needed to support.

What we’d like from you:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Effective organisational capability
  • Great team player
  • Flexibility to respond to the changing needs of those who we support
  • Strong “can do” attitude
