Job Advert Role Description

Looking for a fast-paced and rewarding role within the private mental health sector?

Priory Hospital Woking seeks a new Admissions Officer to join their team. As the Admissions Officer you will provide a bed management function ensuring a smooth and timely process for all prospective clients wanting to start their journey; whether this be as an inpatient, outpatient or day patient. You will need great communication skills as it will be a daily task to liaise closely with Consultant Psychiatrists, hospital Senior Management Team and Admissions Manager (based at Life Works, Old Woking). You will coordinate all bed moves, room changes, admissions and discharges assisted by highly skilled multi-disciplinary teams (MDT).

Priory Hospital Woking operates a “24/7 365” admissions policy – for you this means you would need great organisational skills as outside of your working hours, admissions will be facilitated by the wards leaving the administration and paperwork to you/your department on your arrival to work on the next working day.

Great number skills are required for this role as you will manage all patient finances; from admission to discharge. The Priory Hospital Woking accept private and NHS patients so it will be your responsibility to ensure that all bed fees are paid in advance of treatment.

A great deal of empathy is required for this role as you will screen calls from those who are in a vulnerable state, wanting help but not knowing where to start – you will oversee the workload of an Enquiries Coordinator and direct those calls to them, to assist in providing help, guidance and treatment options. You will also ensure both yourself and the Enquiries Coordinator are meeting expected Service Line Agreements (SLAs) and responding to enquiries within a timely manner.

If you would like an informal discussion about this role or would like to be considered for interview, please contact Anthony Fisher, Admissions Manager ( attaching a copy of your CV and covering letter.
