The Priory Hospital Hayes Grove is one of Priory Healthcare's flagship London private hospitals, and Priory Group are the leading independent provider of mental health care in Europe. The hospital is situated in the London Borough of Bromley, on the border with Kent in South East London, and is easily accessible by road via the M25 or by train from London to Hayes or Bromley South stations. It is also well served by a number of bus routes.

 

The hospital comprises 46 Inpatient beds; a 20-bed NHS England-funded Eating Disorder Unit; a 9-bed CCG-funded Specialist Autism Unit; and a 17-bed private Acute ward supporting patients admitted for general psychiatric illnesses and to our residential Addiction Treatment Programme.  The hospital also supports a busy Day care hospital as well as Outpatient activity.

Job Advert Role Description

We are currently seeking a full-time Staff Grade/Associate Specialist Doctor (37.5 hours/week) to work at the Priory Hospital Hayes Grove.  The succesful candidate will have an MBBS qualification, or equivalent, and will be required to maintain full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Undertake psychiatric and external assessments for clients referred for Inpatient admission to determine the appropriate level of care to be provided, under the direction and supervision of the Consultant Psychiatrist, and work with Ward Multi-Disciplinary Teams to ensure delivery of the Care Programme.
  • Prepare reports and other associated documentation as necessary e.g. for CPA meetings, discharge summaries, etc as directed and supervised by the Consultant Psychiatrist.
  • Participation in learning activities and supervision of other non-Consultant doctors and other staff.
  • Participation in Clinical Governance activities, and account for contracted hours utilised in research, Continuing Professional Development and other non-clinical duties as necessary and in a timely manner.
  • Work effectively with colleagues to ensure that clients have access to appropriate medical cover at all times, which will require participation in an on-call rota for the site.
  • Exercise flexibility in outlook and respond appropriately in response to reasonable changes in the demands of the service.
  • Any other duties considered to be commensurate with the level of the post.
  • Assist the Director of Clinical Services  in achieving the Hospital’s objectives for promoting its reputation as a quality service which is attractive to commissioners, clients and carers. This may involve active planning and participation in promotional activities such as Open Days.

 

The role holder will be able to demonstrate evidence of foundation training and competencies (or equivalent) including experience of working within the field of psychiatry. Experience of working within an acute setting, Eating Disorders and Autistic Spectrum Conditons, and as part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team, would be advantageous.
