Job Advert Location Description

Rosehill Rehab provides specialised neuro rehabilitation for men and women aged 18 years and older, with an acquired brain injury, including traumatic brain injury and strokes as well as progressive neurological conditions. The rehabilitation programme at Rosehill Rehab is particularly aimed at helping people who have experienced cognitive, physical and emotional changes as a consequence of brain injury to become more independent. We do this through a highly skilled and experienced Rehabillitation Team who are supported by the Multi-Disciplinary Team including Neuropsycholgy, Occupational Thearpy and Physiotherapy, all working togeather to help people achieve their goals. As part of our development as a rehabilitation service we have an exciting opertunity to add SALT to the team.

Job Advert Role Description

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced Speech and Language Therapist to be part of our multi-disciplinary team at Rosehill. In your role as a band 7 specialist Speech and Language Therapist you would provide specialist speech and language therapy assessment, differential diagnosis and treatment for adults with communication and swallowing disorders within our rehab setting. This includes low and high tech augmentative and alternative communication and assistive technology input, and clients with cognitive communication difficulties. The role will include providing specialist education, training and advice to patients, carers, families, colleagues, students, and voluntary organisations to develop goals and targeted therapy programmes including those to be carried out by rehab support workers.


To be successful as a Speech and Language Therapist, you’ll need:

•           Diploma/Degree in Speech and Language Therapy

•           HCPC registration


•           An understanding of neurological rehabilitation

•           Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with people

•           A working understanding of Speech and Language Therapy theory and its application to neuro rehabilitation.

•           Ability to assume responsibility for safe practice

•           High standard of written communication

•           Ability to work effectively within a multi disciplinary team

•           Ability to accept responsibility commensurate with the post

•           Evidence of good caseload and time management skills

•           Ability to appropriately delegate

•           Ability to maintain reflective practice and development of Physiotherapy skills

•           Experience of delivering Speech and Language assessments and treatment programmes

•           Experience of collaborative practice with various members of the team
