Job Advert Location Description

Set back within landscaped gardens in a secluded part of Southgate, the tranquil environment of the Priory Hospital North London specialises in the treatment of mental health problems including addiction rehabilitation.

Offering calming and recovery focused residential treatment for up to 49 service users, including separate facilities for up to 22 young people, personalised treatment programmes are delivered by our multidisciplinary team alongside the use of a range of therapies.

Job Advert Role Description

We are currently seeking motivated, enthusiastic and experienced Bank Medical Secretaries to join our team and cover for staff shortfalls when required.

 

Job Purpose:

To support the Priory secretarial services by answering telephone calls, scheduling patient appointments and arranging and updating referrals to consultants. Also maintaining office files and patient records.  Typing all consultant's notes and letters including audio cassettes.

 

Duties:

  • Answering and screening incoming telephone calls, recording and transmitting messages, scheduling appointments for new as well as follow up patients. Keep patient referrals updated and current.
  • Ensure high productivity by efficiently maintaining calendars; scheduling patient appointments, consultations, professional meetings and conferences.
  • Communicate with other mental health practioners; faxing/emailing notes, correspondence to referring agencies or consultants, hospitals etc.  Provide historical reference by utilising filing and retrieval systems; maintaining patient records. 
  • Maintain patient confidence and protect services by keeping information confidential.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in staff development and training when available.  Enhance the office reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests.

 

Skills and Qualifications:

Experienced in Microsoft Office (Medium to Advance level), Scheduling, Telephone Skills, Typing (Audio Typing Essential), Business Knowledge, Organisation, Time Management, Customer Service, Verbal Communication, PC Proficiency, Reporting Skills, Organising patient’s notes, Filing.  Knowledge of Data protection Act

 

Any other reasonable duties as advised by the Support Services Manager.
