Priory Hospital Burgess Hill is located in beautiful West Sussex and offers the opportunity to gain experience across many specialist mental health disciplines including Secure Services, a DBT Locked Rehabilitation service, PICU Services and Acute care.

 

With a CQC rating of GOOD across all 5 Key Lines of Enquiry, you would be working in a forward thinking hospital supporting our patients recovery alongside a highly skilled and dedicated Multi-Disciplinary Team. Job Advert Role Description

This is a zero hours contract role.  As part of the Support Services team, our Chefs provide a high quality service to our service users through the creation, presentation and delivery of meals. Working with a team of Catering Assistants and other Chefs, the successful candidate will assist with the provision of the catering service with particular emphasis on the planning, preparation and cooking of meals.

 

You will be responsible for:

- Supervising junior catering staff in alliance with the 1st Chef

- Ensure that menus and storage of food clearly explains and seperates allergens

- Follow the Priory catering guides for food monitoring and cooking to ensure compliance with EHO standards

- Follow company Health and Safety policies and procedures.

- Contribute to ideas and suggestions for menu planning

- Ordering and purchasing of stocks as requested by 1st Chef and Catering Supervisor

- Maintain flexible working hours

- Monitor food service throughout the facility

- Maintain high quality of service

 

Skills/Experience:

- Basic qualification in food hygiene

- Level 2 diploma in catering & food hygiene or qualified by previous experience in catering

- Commitment to delivering a high quality service

- Excellent organisational and communication skills

- Flexibility

- Effective communication skills including the use of IT systems to order food.

- Flexibility in role including the ability to cope with last minute changes to patient meal plans

- The ability to prepare and cook from scratch high quality fresh meals
