We at Priory Adult Care are currently looking for enthusiastic Senior Support Worker’s to join our brand new facility situated on the outskirts of the beautiful Orchard County – Armagh.

Desart Mews will be home to 34 service users, made up of 2 apartment blocks each with 11 rooms and 2 bungalows of 6 rooms each. The service will offer specialist residential care to adults of all ages with complex needs, learning disabilities and mental health conditions. Offering a homely environment, Desart Mews aims to ensure its residents all have fulfilling lives, achieve their goals and live as independently as possible.

The role of Senior Support Worker will be both varied and rewarding. When on shift you will be in charge of one individual facility - caring for the maximum of 6 service users at any one time. Your duties will include: carrying out medication administration, planning and attending activities, personal care, supervisions of support teams, key holder responsibilities, supporting the Unit Manager with developing and implementing support plans and audits . There will also be involvement around staffing; coaching and mentoring of current staff, inducting and training of new starters and shift planning.

The ideal candidate will have at least 1 years’ experience working within a similar role and will be expected to hold at least a QCF level 2 in Health and Social Care and will be willing to progress through Career Pathways to complete their Level 3 QCF in Health and Social Care. This is a great opportunity for an ambitious individual looking to develop further; the Priory group can offer further QCF qualifications to management level (Level 5), a full mandatory training program, including medication training if required.
