Are you a caring and creative person who is passionate about making a real difference to someone’s life?

We are currently looking for a Care Assistant to provide care and support for individuals at Priory Adult Care’s Blair House in Newtownards. Blair House is a purpose built Care Home located in the West Winds Estate of Newtownards in County Down. It provides high quality nursing care to elderly residents with physical health conditions and dementia. Blair House is 81 beds and has a warm, homely feel which coexists in progressive and dynamic clinical environment.

Both personal care and participation in activities are key parts of the Support Worker role, so energy, excellent communication and organisational skills are vital.

Assists qualified staff with the implementation of individual resident care plans, undertaking

routine tasks and activities as directed to facilitate the well being, dignity and treatment of all

residents.

2. Provides practical support and responsive care to residents who require assistance with

intimate personal needs such as dressing, bathing and toileting activities ensuring that such

activities comply with procedures and the relevant healthcare legislation.

3. Observes and monitors the well being of residents ensuring that any unusual physical, mental

or emotional occurrences are promptly referred to senior staff/the primary nurse and

documented as appropriate.

4. Develops and maintains a good professional relationship with residents, colleagues and

visitors responding promptly and courteously to requests and enquiries.

Previous experience as a Care Assistant or Support Worker would be beneficial, however it is not essential; all we ask is that you have a willingness to learn and the compassion to care for the people we support.
