Desart Mews comprises of two newly built, self-contained bungalows and two self-contained apartments.  The service provides care for 34 residents (six in each bungalow and 11 in each apartment). Desart Mews is situated in its own pleasant grounds, located on the outskirts of Armagh. It is well located for local services and public transport and offers many outdoor activities, horse riding, outdoor gyms, walking and trails, as well as numerous leisure centres, ten pin bowling, theatres etc. In addition, there are a number of major shopping malls offering a diverse range of shops, restaurants and cafes.

Domestic Assistant

Priory Adult Care is currently looking for an experienced Domestic Assistant for our well-kept residential site in the beautiful Orchard County – Armagh. Desart Mews will be home to 34 service users, made up of 2 apartment blocks each with 11 rooms and 2 bungalows of 6 rooms each. The service will offer specialist residential care to adults of all ages with complex needs, learning disabilities and mental health conditions. Offering a homely environment, Desart Mews aims to ensure its residents all have fulfilling lives, achieve their goals and live as independently as possible.

The Role

As domestic assistant you will be in charge of undertaking cleaning duties across the site ensuring a complete cleaning service is provided in compliance with CQC and Health & safety Regulations.  Duties will include:

  • Planning & organising cleaning rotas
  • Comprehensive cleaning (washing floors, emptying bins, vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms, dusting etc..) ensuring the service meets high standards of Hygiene and cleanliness. 
  • Reporting any maintenance issues (damages, faults) to management teams
  • To organise and assist with laundry duties and rotas
  • Assist with ordering of cleaning supplies 
  • Using and storing of cleaning products in accordance with COSHH regulations

Cleanliness and hygiene is a vital part of any COSH assessment, therefore the role of domestic assistant is a key support service of the site. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual, with great attention to detail who can assist with cleaning our site to an excellent standard.
