Priory Hospital Bristol offers calming and recovery focused inpaitent treatment for up to 86 service users as well as day care and outpatient services. Personalised treatment programmes are delivered by our multidisciplinary team, specialising in the management and treatment of acute and complex mental health problems.

Job Advert Role Description

Priory Hospital Bristol are currently looking for an Adult Psychiatrist (30 hours) to join our team. You will be managing a general Acute ward of thirteen patients. We are particularly interested to receive applications from those wishing to also develop their leadership skills, as we require a Medical Director to sit on our Senior management team (7.5 hours) in addition to their case work. 


You will provide medical leadership to our multi-disciplinary team and actively lead and manage the recruitment, revalidation and appraisal of doctors. More than that, you will drive continuous improvement in medical and professional practice, working closely with the senior management team to evaluate and enhance our performance and develop pioneering new services.


An experienced Consultant Psychiatrist with appropriate specialist training and section 12(2) approval, you will have proven ability to develop healthcare policy and manage both people and budgets. Excellent communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills are, of course, essential.


You  will be qualified with full registration with GMC as well as having experience working in an acute mental health setting and within a multidisciplinary team along with experience of teaching and training.
