Located near to central Cardiff, Princes Street is a five bed specialist group home, providing short and long term rehabilitation for service users who have a learning disability with previous or current mental health issues.

The unit is led by an effective multidisciplinary team, experienced in rehabilitation, recovery and caring for service users with complex needs. We are committed to providing a safe environment in which service users can explore freedom of choice and expression and make decisions associated with everyday living.

Job Advert Role Description

We are looking to recruit personable, flexible and motivated Health Care Assistants to support our qualified staff with the delivery of care to our patients. You will be involved in the personal care and meeting the psychological needs of a diverse group of service users with varying degrees of mental and physical issues. You will be caring and attentive with the skills to build strong and trusting relationships with people. It is also important that you work well in a team as you will work alongside qualified  staff from other professions.

Due to a genuine occupational health requirement we are looking to hire male Support Workers for this role.

You will be required to:

  • Flexible and provide excellent standards of person centred support to the people who use our service, maintaining the highest levels of privacy and respect, enabling them to lead as independent lives as possible and realise their potential.
  • Ensure that the people who use our service have any personal needs or requirements met; including personal care, participation in activities and support with daily living tasks.
  • To support people who use our service in achieving their outcomes in the way that they choose.
  • Complete daily administration including updating person centred support & care plans, updating charts and completing accurate daily notes.
  • Through own professional behaviour, including adhering to policies and procedures, contributes to the maintenance of safety, security and confidentiality standards.
  • To undertake keyworking responsibility for individual service users, supporting the individual to plan goals and personal outcomes and ensure that these are comprehensively documented and reviewed.

 

The role requires working day, nights and sleep in shifts.
