Job Advert Role Description

A great opportunity has arisen for somebody with a genuine interest in Human Resources.  The Priory Group are looking for a HR Apprentice to join the Central HR team based in Leicester to support with the day to day HR administration for both the people team and the wider business. The role includes ensuring accurate and timely administration and assisting with major projects and policy delivery.  This role will be challenging and varied offering the successful candidate the opportunity to achieve a CIPD accredited level 3 qualification.

Customer enquiries

Providing a prompt and accurate response to Central HR queries (via email/ telephone), and directing other queries to the relevant department or team.

  • Monitor the Central HR Inbox by ensuring queries are distributed amongst the team and an informed response is provided to the colleague and manager within the SLA
  • Escalate higher level/complex queries to the appropriate manager with an overview of the issue
  • Liaise with or directing colleagues to other support teams to resolve queries
  • Ensure all policies and procedures are followed and tasks are carried out effectively and efficiently providing outstanding customer service to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Effectively communicate with customers/colleagues, using sound interpersonal skills, using a range of communication tools such as email, phone and face to face.
  • Build trust and sound relationships
  • Understand the structure of the organisation and our responsibilities to customers both internal and external and understand our values and behaviours and how these apply to the role.


  • Assist with the administration relevant HR tasks such as variation to contract letters, probation letters and maternity letters.
  • Scanning and filing documents to the relevant folders
  • Ensuring that all information held on our HR systems are accurate and comply with relevant legislation
  • Ensuring the highest levels on confidentiality at all times
  • General office administration
  • Supports the Central HR Team in delivering Reports and Management Information data to stakeholders where required with general interpretation being carried out effectively.
  • Keep up to date with business changes and HR legal/policy and process changes relevant to the role
  • Build strong working relationships with stakeholders, customers and the Central HR team where necessary.
  • Understand systems, tools and processes used throughout the Priory Group and gain knowledge and experience in using these in line with the standards and confidentiality.

Recruitment and selection

  • Assisting the Central Division with their recruitment needs
  • Creating  and updating advertisement for roles with Central Services
  • Co-ordination with prospective candidate and their recruiting managers to arrange and book interviews
  • Ensuring that recruiting managers at kept up to date on all applications

Knowledge / Education / Skills

  • Maths and English
  • A keen eye for detail
  • IT skills advantageous
  • Willing to learn and acts on own initiative to improve individual performance, skills and capability
