Job Advert Role Description

Priory Adult Care is the UK’s leading independent provider of specialist adult care services. Our aim is to provide the right support in the right home for all the individuals we accommodate.

With community-based residential care settings, as well as a network of supported living services, we support adults over the age of 18 with autism, dementia, learning disabilities, mental health conditions, Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS) and behaviours that challenge. We also offer a range of residential and nursing care settings for older people with varying levels of need.

The secret of Apple Mews success is its people, and our support workers are special people. Each day they assist our residents, who live with learning disabilities, to write another page in their life story by supporting them to maintain health and hygiene, engage in meaningful activity, build relationships and contribute to their community. Residents live in small household bungalows, each having six residents. This small group environment offers our staff a genuine opportunity to provide care that is truly individual and relationship centred.

Apple mews is all about doing things a little bit differently, we engage with staff in creative ways and welcome ideas that enrich our service and the lives of people who live here.  Staff development is at the heart of the service, so all training is provided and career opportunities are available. Staff also has access to an impressive company benefits package.

No prior experience is necessary as training will provide the knowledge and skills required, however we cannot teach the most important requirements of the job; these are compassion and a genuine interest in working with people who have a learning difficulty.

We are looking for people with these unique qualities to join us, so that we together can make a real difference to the lives of the people who live in Apple Mews.
