The Priory Hospital Preston is an independent adult mental health hospital, specialising in the management and treatment of a wide range of mental health problems. The Eating Disorders and Acute Mental Health services at the hospital work in partnership with the NHS to provide the best quality outcomes for all the patients in our care.

Opened in 1998, the hospital has established an excellent reputation for providing the highest standards of care together with an extensive range of services delivered across two sites. The hospital has residential facilities for 22 patients. Our highly experienced team includes consultant psychiatrists, accredited therapists, counsellors, nurses and support staff. We also have an Activities Co-ordinator who offers tailored daily activities focusing on the individual needs of each patient.

The Priory Hospital Preston now includes the Bartle Unit (formerly Sion House) which is a specialist eating disorder unit.

Job Advert Role Description

The Role:

We are looking to recruit an Applied Registered Psychologist to cover maternity leave for approximately 9 months.

Psychological services at the Priory Hospital Preston provide specialist psychological interventions to meet the needs of complex and often challenging patients with a range of mental health presentations.

Working as an essential part of the multi-disciplinary team, this role will involve the development, delivery and evaluation of psychological treatment using a person centred approach to assist our patients in achieving their positive life goals.

The role is varied, involving direct and indirect clinical work, MDT decision making, staff training and supervision, evaluation and development of key aspects of the service as apart of an established and experienced team.
