Job Advert Role Description

Southern Peninsula Services specialises in high quality residential and educational provisions for children between 7-19 who may have EMSH and /or Autism. The safeguarding and wellbeing of our young people who may have experienced challenges in their lives is always paramount; along with encouragement to achieve their full potential.

Southern Peninsula Services currently have an educational setting, Quay View School, three Childrens Homes, Tor View School is opening in September and a home in Okehampton will be opening this year with plans for more to open next year, all situated within the Tamar Valley and West Devon localities 

Southern Peninsula Services are looking for a Deputy Manager to join their team as they are opening a new home in the Okehampton area this year. The post may be initially based in our homes in Tavistock and the Gunnislake area to allow for induction, training and familiarisation of Priory policies and standards. The Deputy Manager will also assist with the setting up of the new home and the recruitment of the staff team.

 

As a Deputy Manager you will be a key member of our team, providing high standards of person-centred support and care to our service users. Through a creative and caring approach, you will build good relationships with both service users and their families and other stakeholders, supporting service users in the planning of goals and in teaching them life skills. Both personal care and participation in activities are key tasks for the role, so energy and initiative is vital.

Candidates must have either:

•           Must hold a Level 3 or above Diploma in Children or Young People's Workforce and a willingness to undertake level 5 Diploma qualification within a robust timescale
