Hazelwood House is a low secure unit for men with a learning disability, including those with co-morbid personality disorders, mental illnesses and autistic spectrum disorders.

Job Advert Role Description

The role is for a Registered/Qualified Psychologist requiring current HCPC registration.  They will be based at Hazelwood House Low Secure Service for males with a diagnosis of Learning Disability and Challenging behaviours. 

The role will include delivery of group and individual interventions, providing psychological consultation as a member of the MDT/psychology team.  The role will also include supervision and line management responsibilities, involvement in delivering training and research.  This list is not exhaustive.

It would be desirable for the successful applicant to be trained/accredited in therapies such as DBT.  It would also be desirable for the applicant to be at a stage where they can provide co-ordinating supervision to trainee psychologists.
