Job Advert Location Description

St. Martin’s Road is a stand-alone Registered Children’s Home located in Bristol that runs for 52 weeks of the year.  It is a service that specialises in working with young people who have a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Conditions and are likely to have a range of other complex needs including challenging behaviour.

The young people may well enter the home at a point of crisis in their lives.  As a result they are likely to display high levels of behaviours that challenge. 

Job Advert Role Description

We are seeking motivated new staff memebers to join our team, with a passion for working with young people with emotional, social and behavioural difficulties including those with a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Conditions. 

We are dedicated to ensuring the young people in our care are safe, healthy and able to make a positive contribution and realise their full potential through enjoyment, achievement and economic well being.

Duties include:

•           Contributing to the effective implementation of individual programmes by supporting the learning, social and independence activities and experiences;

•           Contributing to the daily running of the home;

•           Supporting the young people with all their needs whilst encouraging independence;

•           Working effectively as part of a team;

•           Managing and supporting the young people’s well-being and behaviour, ensuring any significant behavioural or physical occurrences are promptly addressed and reported, referring to a senior member of staff as appropriate.

In return, Continual Professional Development will be encouraged for all staff including a focus on autism specific training and opportunities.

It is essential that applicants have either attained or are prepared to work towards Level 3 Children & Young People’s Workforce Diploma qualification.

For all roles we require a minimum of two references.  References provided must cover the last 3 years, or you are applying to work within our Children’s Homes we will need to request all references from where you have worked with either Children or Vulnerable Adults.
