Job Advert Location Description

The Dene Hospital supports both male and female patients with varying needs in its Medium Secure, Low Secure, HDU and Acute Wards. The Dene was rated Good by the CQC following their recent inspection.

The Dene is set in 11 acres of beautiful Sussex countryside, it has educational, occupational and sporting facilities, including a sports hall, tennis court and gymnasium, along with various communal recreation areas. There is a library, art room and rehab practice kitchen. The site also facilitates and runs recovery college courses

 

 The Dene hosts a number of staff events throughout the year including an annual Summer BBQ to celebrate staff long service awards. The Dene also has a well attended CPD programme and supports staff in their professional and career development.

Job Advert Role Description

Working at The Dene you will be supporting the Regional MHA Manager and clinical team by providing administrative support within the Mental Health Act Office on a 12 month fixed term contract. You will be involved in general administrative duties for the department including receiving and logging MHA paperwork and being involved in assisting and coordinating meetings on site for patients and their representatives.

 

We are seeking applicants with:

Essential:-

•  Proven experience in previous administrative role

•  Ability to work on own initiative          

•  Experience of working in busy office setting working towards tight deadlines and ability to prioritise

•  Strong communication skills and ability to communicate with colleagues and external visitors of all levels. This could include letter, phone, email and in person.

•  Computer literate (MS office / MS Outlook)

•  Experience of organising meetings including room bookings, meeting visitors and coordinating attendees.

               

Desirable:-

• Previous experience of working with the Mental Health Act 1983 and relevant legislation         

• Knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act desirable
