Job Advert Location Description

Set within landscaped gardens, the safe and supportive environment of the Priory Hospital Cheadle Royal offers a comprehensive inpatient specialist mental health service for young people and adults. The service is dedicated to providing innovative, high quality care and treatment for patients with challenging and complex needs, in order to enable their recovery and re-engagement with the community.

Job Advert Role Description

As part of its continual service development Priory Hospital Cheadle Royal is opening an exciting new specialist service in 2018, providing care for female patients aged 18 years and over, with a diagnosis of emotionally unstable personality disorder.  The 10-bedded unit is currently under construction and will offer a bespoke, modern environment in which to provide a full Dialectical Behavioural Therapy model of care to our patients.

Would you like to work in a dynamic, psychologically-minded team, responsible for opening a new service at Cheadle Royal?  How about gaining therapeutic training, experience and expertise in working with women with complex mental health challenges?

We are looking for proactive, enthusiastic clinical Occupational Therapist to support the unit in delivering therapeutic care to the women on our programme. Our patients will present challenging and complex needs, and our aim will be to promote a life worth living, with a supported return through their care pathway back into the community.

Reporting to the Lead Occupational Therapist (Adult Services), you will be responsible providing assessment and treatment of a designated case load within the frame work of an established programme. The successful applicant will participate fully with the clinical team in supporting our patients and developing our new service.

You will be experienced in delivering high quality occupational therapy in line with sound evidenced practice.  You will have experience of working with patients who are deemed to have complex and challenging needs.  You will have a flexible approach and will enjoy working both as part of the ward multi-disciplinary team and as part of a vibrant OT team.

Experience in working within a DBT model of care would be welcomed, although DBT training will also be available to the successful candidate.
