Job Advert Role Description

Southern Peninsula Services specialises in high quality residential and educational provisions for children between 7-19 who may have Learning Difficulities including SEMH and Autism. The safeguarding and wellbeing of our young people who may have experienced challenges in their lives is always paramount; along with encouragement to achieve their full potential.

Southern Peninsula Services currently have an educational setting, Quay View School, rated "Good" by Ofsted and three Childrens Homes; all situated within the Tamar Valley and West Devon localities

Due to our current level of expansion we are looking for enthusiatic and experienced Head of Social Care to oversee the management of the exisiting children’s homes and help with setting up new provisions.

As Head of Social Care you will be a key member of our Senior Leadership Team and will become the responsible individual of the childrens homes and support the school residential services Manager.

 

Candidates must have either:

•           Must hold a Social Work Degree or a QCF/Level 5

•           Demonstrate evidence of continuous professional development

•           Be an experienced manager in with the children's services

•           Have experience of working with children and young people with emotional, behavioural and social difficulties

•           Be a strong and effective leader

•           Be emotionally resilient

•           Have the ability to work flexibly and demonstrate resourcefulness

•           Have a strong 'can do' attitude

•           Have highly developed organisational skills

•           Effective communication skills

Working site to be agreed, but will be expected to travel to the homes and schools on a regular basis as some of our homes are in a rural setting own transport is essential
