Job Advert Location Description

Kneesworth House offers purpose built services with medium secure, low secure, and both locked and open rehabilitation opportunities.

The wide range of care settings maximises the opportunity for patients to have step down pathways and move easily between care settings to whatever level of security is most appropriate for their care. In addition to ward-based living and activity areas there is patient engagement opportunity in varied occupational therapy facilities. Patients here report high levels of satisfaction. Four residential houses afford a clear step down pathway for patients.

Job Advert Role Description

Our Ward Administration Officer role involves:

  • To provide an efficient and effective ward based administration service to the nursing team under the direction and guidance of the ward manager and to work as an integral part of the ward team and act as a communication and liaison link between the ward and key stakeholders.

To be successful as Ward Administration Officer, you'll need:


  • Computer literate with intermediate level knowledge/skill in Word and Excel.
  • Good verbal and written communication
  • Sound self-management and organisational skills - ability to plan and prioritise workload.
  • Good office administration skills
  • Ability to work independently when required and to exercise initiative.


  • Thorough understanding of relational, procedural and physical security.
  • Knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983 and associated legislation.
  • Knowledge of the CPA and national guidelines
  • Knowledge of CAREnotes.
