Job Advert Location Description

Bath Road is a specialist children's home for young people aged 7 to 18 who have complex needs which may include autistic spectrum disorder (ASD). The home is located in the market town of Frome in Somerset, with easy walking access to the local town centre.

The home provides residential provision for up to 52 weeks a year, is a stand alone children’s home, and is also linked to North Hill House and Newbury Manor Schools, both of which are in Frome.

The home’s focus is to promote the development of individual social behaviour, independence and personal skills and offering opportunities to practise these in real life settings. This ensures that our young people develop a positive outlook on life in a safe, warm, welcoming, structured and fun environment.

Job Advert Role Description

This is an opportunity to join a committed, skilled and friendly team and to contribute to the culture and feel of the home.

Taking overall responsibility for the management and leadership of the home, and promoting high standards of care in line with our regulatory bodies, our Registered Manager will be required to manage both the employees and resources to ensure the highest standards of care are achieved within the home. Your duties will include ensuring all documentation and records are maintained, and implementing appropriate systems to ensure compliance with requirements.

In accordance with National Minimum Standards for Children's Homes, you should have a good knowledge and experience of the law and practice relating to looked after children, and a recognised social work qualification or a professional qualification relevant to working with children to at least level 4. Experience of working with children with ASD and associated learning difficulties is preferred.

The role holder will be required to complete the full registration process and be declared fit by OFSTED.

A clean driving licence with at least 3 years driving experience is essential.

For all roles we require a minimum of two references.  References provided must cover the last 3 years, or you are applying to work within our Children’s Homes we will need to request all references from where you have worked with either Children or Vulnerable Adults.
