Job Advert - Division Information

Priory Education and Children’s Services is a leading company in the UK offering independent behavioural care for commissioners across the UK.

Job Advert Location Description

With over 100 high quality schools, colleges and homes we focus on making a real and lasting difference for everyone we support.

Job Advert Role Description

We are recruiting now for our Children’s Homes, aligned to Rugeley School, a specialist residential setting for young people aged 5 to 19 with autism and moderate to severe learning difficulties.

The Children’s Homes and School provide a modern setting in which students can achieve an enhanced degree of emotional stability through an active approach to learning. Students are able to engage in daily life with increased confidence, self-esteem, dignity and independence.

As a Residential Support Worker you will be a key member of our Children’s Home Team, providing high standards of person-centred support and care to our young people throughout their day-to-day life. Through a creative and caring approach, you will build good relationships with both students and their families, supporting them in the planning of goals and in living as independently as possible.

Successful applicants will be required to provide a range of support services including help with personal care and helping to develop social skills and home skills to students in their residential setting. These posts will suit people who are prepared to work a three week rolling rota comprising of early and late shifts covering weekdays and weekends. The role does not require any contractual ‘sleep-in’ duties.

This is a physically demanding role and staff will also need to have the confidence to deal with the challenging behaviours that autism can present.  We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all our employees to share in this commitment.

Full time, Part time and Bank positions available.

Our ethos is to promote the development of social behaviours, independence and personal skills, offering opportunities to practice them in real life settings. We provide care with a strong emphasis on the importance of privacy, dignity, rights, choice and fulfilment in a comfortable, homely, stimulating and safe environment.

What we’d like from you:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Effective organisational capability
  • Great team player
  • Flexibility to respond to the changing needs of those who we support
  • Strong “can do” attitude
  • Due to the requirement of the standards that we work to in the residential setting all staff need to have reached the age of 21

What we’d like to give you:

  • Sponsored access to Diploma Level 3 in Residential Childcare (if not already obtained)
  • A competitive salary
  • Enhanced disclosure cost coverage
  • Comprehensive induction and commitment to ongoing training
  • 33 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays)
  • Online benefits and cashback rewards
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • SMART Childcare Vouchers
  • SMART Pension option
