Job Advert Location Description

Priory Hospital East Midlands is a female service with 28 beds it is  situated close to all major travel routes. The hospital has 3 wards including a PICU which is due to open in early summer,  an established Low Secure service, and planned development to re-tool the third ward to provide a specialist DBT treatment servIce.

The hospital is rated as 'Good' with the CQC and enjoys a stable and established MDTwhich includes OT, psychology and experience RMN's.  The hospital offers a range of treatments and interventions including promoting least resptrictive practice and patient collaboration in decision making. The service works closely with other Priory Healthcare services within the region enabling and developing supportive care pathways

Job Advert Role Description

The post is ward-based, across two wards (a 10 bed female PICU and a 10 bed female PD service). The wards each have an allocated MDT and whole-time Consultant Psychiatrist.  Both services are a consultant-led model of care, with medical support from the post-holder.  Under the supervision of the two Consultant Psychiatrists, the post-holder has responsibility for the day-to-day medical care of the patients on the wards.  There is no out-patient work required.  The on call covers the two wards plus two nearby acute services within Priory Group.  The on call work is mainly related to admissions out of hours and the expected frequency of this would be no more than one admission per night. Compensatory rest is expected to be taken after on call periods.


The post is an exciting development in an expanding and diverse hospital that specialises in women's services, in a Region that fosters medical team working and supports Specialty Doctors through CESR if desired.
