With community-based residential care settings, as well as a network of supported living services, we support adults over the age of 18 with autism, dementia, learning disabilities, mental health conditions, Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS) and behaviours that challenge. We also offer a range of residential and nursing care settings for older people with varying levels of need.

Job Advert Location Description

Charnwood Lodge provides residential care for 17 adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental ill-health and behaviours that challenge, many of which are supported on a 1:1 or 2:1 basis due to their complex needs.  The home is situated on the outskirts of Loughborough town centre and is in a rural location so own transport is essential as it is not on a bus route.  The home has been tastefully decorated throughout with individual décor to each bedroom to meet the requirements and needs of each service user.  Service users are supported by experienced staff who ensure that their physical, intellectual, emotional and social needs are met. There is a high ratio of staff ensuring a highly supportive framework of care in which the service users can achieve their potential within a safe environment with dignity and respect.  The service users enjoy cooking, swimming, bowling, trips to the cinema, outings to pubs, drama, arts and crafts, music and shopping, the theatre and enjoying the great outdoors.  College courses are also available for those that wish to participate.

Job Advert Role Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Manager.  The successful candidate will be an individual that has a proven track record and experience in a similar management position ideally within a similar setting and is flexible and creative in their thinking and approach.  They will ideally possess a Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care Leadership Management or at least be willing to work towards this. 

They will support the Service Manager in ensuring that the home is maintained in accordance with our regulatory bodies. The role holder will line manage the senior team to ensure high standards of care and service are achieved within the home to regulatory standards.  They will deputise in the absence of the Service Manager and assume on-call responsibilities as required.

This post requires the successful candidate to work flexible hours over a 7 day rostered period.  This includes 20 care hours so that the overall quality of service delivery can be assessed and overseen on a day to day basis to optimise quality outcomes for those we support.

The remaining 20 hours are to assist with administrative tasks which include rota development and management, supervisions and appraisals of staff, facilitating and attending meetings (internal and external), undertaking assessments of potential new placements, support planning and risk assessing, assisting with recruitment and selection processes, supporting and overseeing health and safety for the home, budget management, liaising with senior managers within the company and providing statistical information upon request.

The successful candidate will also support the Service Manager in managing resources to ensure sales and profits are maximised.
