Job Advert Location Description

The Cloisters is a 25 bedded hospital set within a peaceful environment on the edge of Newbury. Working in partnership with Berkshire NHS Trust, the unit offers inpatient individualised treatment and rehabilitation to patients who have mental health problems and require support to increase their recovery and independence with a view to enabling them to leave the hospital and live in varying levels of supported living accommodation.

Job Advert Role Description

We are looking to recruit a dynamic, reliable and creative individual to join our Catering team. You will be responsible for assisting with the provision of a high quality catering service in line with Priory policies and procedures with a particular emphasis on the planning, preparation, cooking and serving of meals. Under the supervision of a Catering Manager you will ensure compliance with safety legislation and Priory policies. You will assist the Head Chef by researching and creating new menus to ensure meals are of high quality including cost effective and efficient control of stock of food products, placing orders and reconciling deliveries. You will take full responsibility for the catering operation in the absence of the Catering Manager and supervise assigned catering staff to ensure the quality of work continues to meet the required standards.

The successful applicant will be educated to NVQ2 or equivalent or qualified by experience in Catering with a basic qualification in Food hygiene. You will also need to be IT literate as orders are placed and tracked on a computer system. Having experience within a professional kitchen environment will be an advantage.
