The Dene Hospital based in Hassocks, West Sussex is part of Priory Healthcare; it has been established by one of the UK’s leading independent providers of mental health services. The Dene Hospital supports both male and female patients with varying needs in its Medium Secure, Low Secure, HDU and Acute Wards and was rated ‘Good’ by the CQC following their recent inspection.

The Dene is set in 11 acres of beautiful Sussex countryside, it has a wide range of educational, occupational and sporting facilities, including a sports hall, tennis court and gymnasium, along with various communal recreation areas. There is also a library, art room and rehab practice kitchen. The site also facilitates and runs Recovery College courses.

 

The Dene hosts a number of staff events throughout the year including an annual Summer BBQ to celebrate staff Long Service Awards. The Dene also has a well attended CPD programme and supports staff in their professional and career development.

Job Advert Role Description

We are looking to recruit an Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic team, providing high quality therapy services to service users at The Dene Hospital.  The successful candidate will join a well established, dedicated and fully integrated multi-disciplinary team undertaking occupational therapy sessions, groups, care planning and evaluation for a designated caseload.

Candidates will have excellent group facilitation skills in addition to providing individual interventions as part of the hospital's therapeutic timetable. 

Dip COT, BSc or MSc in Occupational Therapy together with HCPC registration is required together with previous experience of working with complex and challenging patients within a Mental Healthcare setting implementing a therapeutic approach. 

A flexible approach is essential together with good communication and organisational skills. This role will also be involved with the supervision of Occupational Therapy Assistants within the hospital.
