Job Advert Role Description

The role:

We are looking for a Bank Chef to assist with the provision of a catering service with particular emphasis on the planning, preparation, cooking and serving of meals.

What you will be doing:

  • Cleaning all kitchen utensils and equipment, plates and cutlery from the wards
  • Operating regular kitchen cleaning on a day-to-day schedule basis
  • Preparing fresh food for the times of service
  • Running the kitchen in absence of the catering supervisor
  • Being responsible for correct washing/cleaning and storage procedures for kitchen utensils, restaurant plates, and cutlery
  • Preparing food and desserts for the main meals at lunch and tea time
  • Placing orders with suppliers
  • Being responsible for dishwashing machine in regard to cleaning and correct operation
  • Maintaining a professional approach at all times, conducting yourself in a smart, clean, hygienic and orderly manner
  • Maintaining flexible working hours at all times
  • Maintaining health and safety at work practices at all times
  • Assisting in basic food preparation, e.g. salads, sandwiches, vegetables
  • Following specification files and understanding measurements
  • Accepting deliveries, monitoring inventory and rotating stock
