Job Advert Role Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast developing school that was judged Ofsted ‘Good’ in December 2015. 

We are looking for a child facing person to:

•           To develop appropriate aspects of the school’s vision

•           To carry out the role as directed by their line manager

•           To work with the Transition and Educational Interventions Lead to develop and maintain interventions in line with the school’s nurturing ethos

•           To establish a good relationship with pupils by using language and other communication skills that the pupils can understand and relate to

•           To be fully aware of information to support every student, such as EHCPs and positive behaviour plans

•           To transition students into the classroom as and when required

•           To develop strategies for positive behaviour across the school and advise outreach work

•           To identify methods of re-engaging students in their teaching & learning groups with a focus on restorative practice

•           To set the standard for positive role models in line with school policies amongst staff and students

•           To positively engage with and support our students both in and out of the classroom, using a range of interventions

•           To feed back to teaching & learning, support and leadership staff with regards to effective engagement strategies

•           To report as required on the impact of the role both in terms of data and the development of our students and contribute to student reviews

•           To attend meetings as and when required

•           To undertake duties as and when required

•           To take part in and lead on continuing professional development

•           To abide by and work towards all the policies within the school e.g. Health & Safety 


Student and Staff Experience

•           To contribute to and, where appropriate, lead on the following aspects of school life:

o          Equality and diversity (including radicalisation / extremism)

o          Physical (healthy living and self-respect) and personal development, including portfolio gathering

o          SMSC in liaison with the SMSC lead

For all roles we require a minimum of two references.  References provided must cover the last 3 years, or you are applying to work within our Children’s Homes we will need to request all references from where you have worked with either Children or Vulnerable Adults.
