Providing quality, inspiring innovation and  delivering value is what we set out to achieve at Priory Healthcare. Enabling our patients with mental health difficulties to receive a truly integrated and holistic approach to their treatment, regardless of complexity or severity, thanks to the knowledge and expertise of our multidisciplinary clinical teams.

Job Advert Location Description

The Priory Hospital Romiley will provide a recovery and rehabilitation service for female patients with complex mental health needs.

The hospital will be registered with the CQC and offer 10 individual bedrooms for detained (MHA) and informal patients.

It is expected that referrals will come predominantly from the North West area for women “stepping up” from community based services and “stepping down” from acute & PICU wards and Low Secure Services.

Park Villa, in Macclesfield, is a community-based hospital providing tailored rehabilitation and recovery for up to 11 women aged between 18 and 65 years, with complex and enduring mental health needs.

Job Advert Role Description

We are currently looking for a Qualified Psychologist, who will be able to work across both services and would like to hear from enthusiastic and skilled individuals who can work with a variety of individuals, adapting their therapeutic interventions to each patient’s needs.  Successful applicants will be those who are capable of making significant contributions to our service whilst also seeking an opportunity to develop their own clinical skills, experience and reputation.

This role will involve working with complex patients who present with a range of mental disorders. You will be involved in both assessment and treatment, including the use of structured risk assessment measures, delivering therapeutic interventions and enhancing social inclusion and the achievement of positive life goals. Current approaches used within individual therapy include CBT, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, and Cognitive Analytical Therapy, so experience of these techniques would be an advantage.

As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will take a lead role in the development, delivery and evaluation of evidence-based psychological interventions, that are bespoke to each patient, whilst being based on principles of efficacy. Your role will also incorporate staff training, staff support including reflective practice, advising on psychology informed systemic interventions, and providing a psychological perspective on all aspects of clinical care, and the wider business environment.

Successful applicants will have full registration as a Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). You will have the ability to apply psychological knowledge to a community facing psychiatric setting; will be able to adopt a systematic and evidence based approach and to respond flexibly to both the treatment requirements of our patients, and the complexities associated with a recovery orientated setting.
