Stockton Hall is a highly specialist hospital where patients requiring a medium secure care setting can maximise value from therapeutic interventions. Our services have produced excellent recovery results for patients and they are able to progress to low secure or locked rehabilitation if possible.

The facility is split across seven wards as follows:

16 bedded female ward - Mental Health and Personality Disorder
16 bedded male ward - Personality Disorder
8 bedded elderly male ward - for those with a settled in presentation in need of rehabilitation for mental illness and/or personality disorders
Two 24 bedded male wards for mental health focus

16 bedded male ward – Learning Disability

8 bedded male ward – Autistic Spectrum Disorder

Job Advert Role Description

We are currently looking for a Basic Grade Occupational Therapist to join our therapy team.

You will be responsible for ensuring provision of an effective and efficient Occupational Therapy service to an allocated group of patients and contributing to the planning and development of the Occupational Therapy service through the hospital.

Knowledge of working within secure environments would be an advantage as well as some experience of working within multi disciplinary services.

Main Duties:

The post holder will work on an allocated ward and be offered regular supervision by a senior therapist. There are opportunities to develop clinical skills, increase understanding of occupational therapy within a secure environment  and access regular CPD time.

The Occupational Therapists are supported by a team of technical instructors, education staff and health and leisure staff. This is a friendly and dynamic service which is currently developing our use of occupation in secure environments.

The successful candidate should ideally have:

  •  Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • State Registration (HCPC)
  • Excellent organisational capability
  • Effective communication skills
  • Patient centred and commitment to delivery high quality care
