Job Advert - Division Information

Providing quality, inspiring innovation and  delivering value is what we set out to achieve at Priory Healthcare. Enabling our patients with mental health difficulties to receive a truly integrated and holistic approach to their treatment, regardless of complexity or severity, thanks to the knowledge and expertise of our multidisciplinary clinical teams.

Job Advert Location Description

Priory Calverton Hill Hospital underwent its most recent announced CQC inspection in 2017 and was rated good in all areas.

Safety and quality is at the heart of everything we do for our patients at Priory  Hospitals.  We strive at all times to provide care in the least restrictive manner, to maximise our patients’ independence, to empower and involve our patients and their carers in their care, and to maintain the highest standards of dignity and respect for our patients and their carers.

Job Advert Role Description

The forensic intellectual disability service for women is based on Clumber ward at Calverton Hill Hospital and the postholder will be responsible for Clumber ward (14 beds, female medium secure ID).   The forensic intellectual disability service for men operates a consultant-led medical model, supported by a full MDT.  The focus is on high quality expert psychiatric care delivered to the ward by medical staff who are specifically trained and skilled in the models of care, and who are clinical leaders for values, ethics, and innovation.   The successful applicant will be expected to work collaboratively with the MDT and with the governance structures at the hospitals.

Due to the nature of the caseload the successful candidate will have a CCT in Intellectual Disability Psychiatry or joint CCTs in ID and Forensic Psychiatry.  For candidates with ID CCT forensic experience is preferable but not essential.  A package of further training and support will be available to holders of ID CCTs to assist them in developing the necessary skills and competencies to work with the challenging but rewarding caseload.

The successful candidate will be joining an expanding and clinically diverse Region (Priory North).  There is strong governance within the Region and the successful applicant will be expected to take an active role in service and quality development and to participate in Regional meetings and Service Line meetings as necessary.  The successful candidate will have a demonstrated interest in working in forensic psychiatric services, and a commitment to evidence-based interventions, multi-professional working, and service-user involvement.

The PrioryHospitals East Midlands Cluster operates a first on call consultant rota with a 1 in 7 commitment.
