Job Advert Role Description

Here at Priory Group our People Services function is on a journey to develop a best in class HR service that meets the challenging and changing needs of our four business divisions and our 23000 colleagues.

The Successful Candidate will provide an extensive range of HR and administrative support and guidance to the Central Services Division including first line HR advice, policy drafting/ reviewing, supporting on specialist projects and providing coaching to team leaders within the People Team office.  Will be able to liaise and build robust relationships with HR Colleagues across all regions to create consistency and best practice. 

Duties will include:

  • Review and update HR Policies when required or if there is regulation changes that may affect our policies;
  • Work closely with the Central Payroll Team in the annual pay review and to support any payroll related issues between site and team as appropriate;
  • Be one of the points of contact for Employee Relations (ER) queries from managers in the division including advice and support on performance management and absence management and supporting the In-house Employment Solicitor / Solicitor and Head of Central HR with more complex ER issues;
  • Support on complex cases including attending hearings, investigation meetings, appeals as appropriate and liaise with the HR & Resourcing Business Partner/ Solicitor & Head of Central HR on complex issues to ensure consistency;
  • Manage all processes in a timely manner and within policy guidelines;
  • Utilise employee data and trend analysis to educate and work in partnership with line managers on people issues, e.g. absence management, reducing turnover;
  • Working as part of the Central HR Team to manage and facilitate transformation in terms of working practices and management style across the division;
  • To support with the management of the EAP provider and any projects arising from this;

What we’d like from you:

  • Minimum Level 5 CIPD qualified or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of the latest UK employment law and HR best practice
  • Strong customer focused attitude
  • Understands and applies strong principles of confidentiality at all times
  • Ability to handle ambiguity
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Influencing and relationship building
  • Forward thinking, proactive and creative
  • The ability to deal with multiple issues simultaneously in a highly dynamic environment
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills
  • Sector relevant experience is desirable
  • Good knowledge of MS Office/Excel
