Job Advert Location Description

We are recruiting now for our Children’s Homes, aligned to Rugeley School, a specialist residential setting for young people aged 5 to 19 with autism and moderate to severe learning difficulties.

The Children’s Homes and School provide a modern setting in which students can achieve an enhanced degree of emotional stability through an active approach to learning. Students are able to engage in daily life with increased confidence, self-esteem, dignity and independence.

Job Advert Role Description

A Senior Support Worker is required for our Children's Home. You must have or be working towards Diploma Level 3 H&SC or equivalent and mandatory training must be up to date.

You will supervise a specific team and group of students on specific shifts.  You will supervise the effective implementation of learning programmes. You will also be responsible for dealing with issues and incidents on shift and support staff on to maintain effective relations with external agencies.

This is a physically demanding role and staff will also need to have the confidence to deal with the challenging behaviours that autism can present.

Due to the location of our sites holding a driving licence and having access to a car will be beneficial.

Hours

You should be happy to work a combination of early and late shifts covering weekdays and weekends on rota. For example 7.00 am to 15.30 pm and 15.00 pm  to 22.30 pm.

Rugeley School is an independent residential school for children with Autism from the age of 5-19 years.  Our school, which opened in May 2000, stands at the forefront in the education of children with Autism.
