With hospitals around the country, 30 years of experience in our sector and highly skilled and experienced teams, we help patients and commissioners find the right care pathways without the need for multiple reassessments.

Job Advert Role Description

We are seeking an Activity Co-ordinator who can adopt an active ward-based role in planning and co-ordinating patient activities through proactive engagement of the patient population and members of the Multi-Disciplinary Team.

Our Activity Co-ordinator role includes:

  • On a daily basis, monitoring programme activity and being proactive in ensuring that meaningful therapeutic activity is provided in a safe and therapeutic environment
  • Working collaboratively with the Multi-Disciplinary Team members on patient activity
  • Contributing to the creation of patient and ward timetables, ensuring that patients have access to therapeutic interventions to meet their recovery needs and are provided with a range of activities to promote healthier lifestyles and skill development.
  • Providing effective and accurate clinical entries and outcome of activities using an electronic patient database system
  • Providing community based activities.
  • Attending the following Clinical meetings in order to ensure accurate feedback on patient activity:

-Ward based Multi-Disciplinary Team Meetings
-Ward Rounds as appropriate
-Appropriate Care Programme Approach Meetings / Section 117
-OT team meetings

To be successful as an Activity Co-ordinator, you’ll need:

  • Previous experience of working in a secure environment (desirable)
  • Previous experience of working with people that have mental disorders (desirable)
  • YMCA Level II Gym instructor (desirable)
  • Effective computer skills ( essential)
  • Previous experience of organising/facilitating social events and activities (desirable)
  • Any relevant certificates, courses and skills that would enhance the delivery and diversity of therapeutic activities (desirable)
  • Ability to work flexibly - flexible shifts to be planned weekly with supervisor
  • A valid UK driving licence (Essential)
  • A strong interest in developing and maintaining a horticulture centre (desirable)
