Job Advert Location Description

The Dene Hospital supports both male and female patients with varying needs in its Medium Secure, Low Secure, HDU and Acute Wards. The Dene was rated Good by the CQC following their recent inspection.

The Dene is set in 11 acres of beautiful Sussex countryside, it has educational, occupational and sporting facilities, including a sports hall, tennis court and gymnasium, along with various communal recreation areas. There is a library, art room and rehab practice kitchen. The site also facilitates and runs recovery college courses

 The Dene hosts a number of staff events throughout the year including an annual Summer BBQ to celebrate staff long service awards. The Dene also has a well attended CPD programme and supports staff in their professional and career development.

Job Advert Role Description

We are seeking a  Social Worker to manage monitor and review an assigned caseload within our Female Secure services at The Dene.

The successful candidate will work as part of the MDT to provide holistic support to clients and their families, working with partnership agencies

At The Dene working within the secure services managing a complex caseload which will include people with mental health problems who offend and some duties will be completing assessments, risk assessments and reports and working closely with home teams. 

You will co-ordinate, negotiate and manage mandatory processes and procedures ensuring the hospital's compliance with statutory regulation.

The social worker role is highly valued by the MDT and the post holder will work closely with the established team which includes consultant psychiatrists, doctors, nursing staff and full range of  therapists.

Senior managers will listen to your thoughts and ideas and you have the opportunity to be really involved with and to influence  the future direction of our services.

 

We are seeking applicants with:

•           A degree level social work qualification

•           Current HCPC registration

•           Knowledge of current legislation

•           Experience of safeguarding

•           Experience of working in a multi disciplinary setting in relation to mental health

You will bring with you excellent communication skills and the motivation to strive for excellence yourself and via others.
