Job Advert Location Description

The Dene Hospital supports both male and female patients with varying needs in its Medium Secure, Low Secure, HDU and Acute Wards.

The Dene is set in 11 acres of beautiful Sussex countryside, it has educational, occupational and sporting facilities, including a sports hall, tennis court and gymnasium, along with various communal recreation areas. There is a library, art room and rehab practice kitchen. The site also facilitates and runs recovery college courses.

Job Advert Role Description

As Maintenance Lead at The Dene, your main objectives will be:-

  • To provide leadership to the Maintenance team and assume overall site supervision responsibility.  To ensure a high standard of maintenance is achieved and support the Facilities Manager in all areas ensuring that all aspects of the Operational Policies are adhered to.
  •  Applicants will be expected to be part of Maintenance team on-call rota.


Some of the skills and experience we are looking for are:

  • Desirable for NVQ or C&G in a craft trade (carpentry, electrical, plumbing)
  • Good building maintenance background, awareness of Health and Safety and security regulations.
  • It would be useful to have hospital/commercial experience in similar position with flexible approach.
  • Clean driving licence.
  • Basic computer skills for on-line ordering and general admin.
  • A flexible and positive approach to working.
  • Common sense approach to work.
  • Due to the location of our hospital site candidates must be able to travel using their own vehicle/public transport.
