Job Advert Location Description

Oaktree Manor is a low secure hospital providing care and treatment to adults (male and female) with a primary diagnosis of learning disabilities. Patients are all detained under the Mental Health Act and may have Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD); challenging behaviours; dual diagnosis including mental health and personality disorders. We have six wards which provide safe and therapeutic environments for the patient group . Oaktree Manor is in Tendring which is near Clacton on Sea , Essex and has good travel links to nearby towns such as Ipswich, Colchester and also London

Job Advert Role Description

Our Social Worker role involves:

• Conducting comprehensive and objective evaluations of the patients current status, environment and functional abilities, including risk assessment of patients, staff and the wider community.

• Manage, monitor and review an assigned caseload ascertaining the socio-economic circumstances of patients, ensuring that the relevant people are made aware of the patients situation. Maintains accurate and timely records detailing each patient’s rehabilitation / progress.

• To assist with POVA issues and take appropriate action with those statutory services. To apply working knowledge of statutory and company policies and procedures to set a strategy for protecting potentially vulnerable patients.

• Assists and support Lead Social Worker, colleagues and relatives in understanding and interpreting changes in legislation and statutory regulations.

• To collaborate and to act as main contact between relatives, agencies and other official organisations co-ordinating negotiations and communications regarding admissions, discharges and long-term needs.

 

To be successful as Social Worker you’ll need:

• A degree level social work qualification and GSCC registration, together with a detailed knowledge and comprehensive understanding of current legislation. 

• In-depth knowledge and experience in working within a multi-disciplinary setting in relation to mental, physical conditions and learning disability and the impact on the clients and their extended family.
